iBUYPOWER and Cyberpower are two of the biggest names on the market for prebuilt PC’s, especially gaming computers.
In order to get a good gaming PC, you have one of two options:
- Go out and buy each component individually and assemble it yourself at home
- Order a prebuilt gaming PC from a boutique seller like iBUYPOWER or Cyberpower and wait for it to arrive at your door.
While you could save a little bit of money by purchasing the components and putting it together yourself, you could void the warranty on the parts if you put it together incorrectly and damage anything.
Buying a prebuilt PC from iBUYPOWER or Cyberpower affords you the convenience of having someone else assemble the computer and provide you with a warranty on the system. In this post we will compare the offerings by both brands to see which one is right for you.

Cyberpower CPU
Cyberpower offers several different options of processor around which you can base your computer.
Intel |
AMD |
Intel Core i5 9400KF | AMD Ryzen 3 2300X |
Intel Core i5 9600K | AMD Ryzen 5 1400 |
Intel Core i7 9700K | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X |
Intel Core i9 9900K | AMD Ryzen 9 3900X |
Intel Core i9 9900KF | AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X |
Intel Core i9 10900X | AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X |
Your processor is the brain of your computer, so make sure when you select your computer build or are customizing your desktop setup that it has the ability to handle the graphics and memory you want to use for your computer.
Intel Core i5 and AMD Ryzen 3 are good general purpose processors.
If you are going to be using your computer for high intensity gaming or other graphics processing, you may want to consider a higher tier processor that will be able to support the graphics card and memory you want to use in your machine if you have upgrades in mind.
Some of the available computer builds offer other Intel and AMD processors, but these are the main ones available when selecting computers based on processor.
iBUYPOWER CPU
iBUYPOWER offers a range of Intel and AMD processors for your computer.
You have the option to start your computer build with any iBUYPOWER CPU listed below and then customize the rest of the features to your liking, with increases in price commensurate with the upgrade options you choose.

Intel Core i9 9900K | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
Intel Core i9 9900X | AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X |
If you are going to use the computer for general use, the i5 or the AMD Ryzen 3 will be fine for what you need. If you plan on using the computer for gaming and other graphically intense processes, you should consider a processor from one of the higher tiers of either manufacturer.
Intel is the favored brand of processor by many gamers, but the AMD processors are available at a more accessible price point.
Some of the available computer builds offer other Intel and AMD processors, but these are the main ones available when selecting computers based on processor.

Cyberpower warranty
The Cyberpower PC warranty covers the parts of the computer. They guarantee the parts inside the computer you purchase will be free of defects for one year from the date of the invoice.
iBUYPOWER warranty
While both companies offer warranties on their computers so you have the security of replacement parts if anything fails, the iBUYPOWER warranty is much more generous. Their standard warranty is three years labor and one year parts. During this time, they will replace or repair any defective parts at no extra cost to the consumer.
iBUYPOWER also offers two extended warranties:
- 4 years labor, two years parts
- 5 years labor, 3 years parts
If you are someone who typically upgrades your computer every 3-5 years, the extended warranty will cover any defects in your computer up until the time you reasonably expect to replace your machine.
Conclusion
iBUYPOWER and Cyberpower both offer the opportunity to select and customize gaming systems with your desired motherboard, processor, memory and graphics card options.
The main difference between CyberPower and iBUYPOWER is: If you are looking for a pre-designed computer offered by the retailer with the components selected and installed for you, iBUYPOWER comes out over Cyberpower because they offer significantly more prebuilt machines than Cyberpower does.
